Within the Plovdiv Region
The development of local interinstitutional network aims at providing an easy access to the services and resources of the institutions and non-governmental organizations in the Plovdiv region, so that women and children, victims of violence, could make use of them.
The first tasks, assigned to the team of Foundation for Cares in the Community "Diva" are:
1. To provoke a change in the accusatory attitude of the representatives of local institutions towards women and children, who have been victims of violence.
2. To lobby for identifying them as a group with specific needs.
3. To work out procedures for transmitting clients and joint action on particular cases.
Main partners in our work on cases, concerning women and children, victims of violence, are:
• Social Assistance Department;
• Department for Child Protective Services;
• Regional Labour Office;
• Police;
• Regional Office for Combating Organized Crime;
• Forensic medicine;
• Foundation "Bulgarian Gender researches" - the Plovdiv branch;
• Catholic Eparchy Organization "Karitas - Plovdiv";
• Bulgarian Red Cross;
• Foundation "Bureau for self-support - Stolipinovo".
Representatives of Foundation "Diva" take part in the Regional Commission for Public Peace and security, Plovdiv Region and in three of the local commissions, built up on the strategy "Police Closer to Society" as defenders of problems, concerning women and children, victims of violence.
