Emergency Psychological and Social Help
The concern about the emotions of women in crisis and the support for overcoming this crisis are rendered by means of the emergency psychological and social help.
This service gives the opportunity of holding a certain number of individual appointments with a counsellor from the Unit. Within these meetings the woman has the opportunity to share her experiences, fears and concerns and to discuss her immediate desires and needs. Then both the women and the counsellor work out an individual plan of the objects she wants to achieve based on the meetings held.
The counsellor supports the woman giving her information about the rights and opportunities she has by virtue of the law as well as about the services delivered by other organizations in Plovdiv. When necessary the counsellor makes intercession for the client in her contacts with professionals from other organizations and institutions. The counsellor is the client’s partner when thinking over alternatives and making decisions, lends her support in arranging the concrete steps and in the plan implementation.
The information which has been shared remains confidential.
The emergency psychological and social help is rendered with the purpose of meeting the immediate emotional needs of women suffered violence no matter whether they have been lodged in the Crisis Unit.
The clients have the opportunity for access to medical services, legal consultations and police protection conformable to their concrete needs.
